Ovella House Nowell
Welcome. I’m Ovella Nowell, founder and administrator of Nowell Care At Home, LLC, and I bring over 25 years of experience in healthcare to my work as a dedicated in-home caregiver and care coordinator. My career began in one of North Carolina’s largest hospitals, where I served in both clinical and administrative roles. Those years gave me a comprehensive understanding of medical needs, hospital-to-home transitions, and the critical importance of compassionate patient-centered care.
Certified Professional Coach:
In addition to my clinical background, I’m a Certified Professional Coach. This training enhances my ability to guide families through care planning, goal setting, and wellbeing strategies, and bring clarity, accountability, and a collaborative spirit to every caregiver journey.
What guides my work:
Clinical excellence meets practical compassion: My hands-on clinical experience ensures I recognize medical needs quickly, while my administrative background keeps care plans organized, compliant and coordinated.
Integrity and Accountability:
I’m committed to delivering reliable ethical care with meticulous attention to safety, privacy and respect.
Professional Background:
Healthcare leadership, 25 + years in a major NC hospital, in roles spanning clinical care and administration.
Patient Advocacy:
A trusted advocate who ensures clients and families understand options, consent, and goals of care.
What I Offer:
In-home care with clinical insight; Personal care, Medication reminders, Mobility support, Light housekeeping, Meal planning & preparation and assistance with Daily activities delivered with medical awareness and safety first.
Foster-to Family Perspective:
As a foster parent who is about to adopt a 11 year old and 13 year old boy, I bring a deep understanding of trust-building, consistency, and the emotional layers involved in caregiving – especially for children and teens navigating change.
About My Family:
I have been married to my best friend for over 38 years and have two adult sons and one beautiful and amazing daughter in law. This personal journey reinforces my professional dedication to stability, safety and a nurturing environment for families as they navigate health and care needs.
My Philosophy:
Care should feel safe, familiar, and tailored. It should honor a person’s history, preferences, and routine while providing the support necessary to maintain independence and quality of life at home. I listen first, assess with clinical precision, and collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to create a plan that is realistic, respectful, and adaptable as needs evolve.
